Use of fireworks on the Black Hills National Forest and within the Black Hills Fire Protection District (https://www.fs.usda.gov/.../FSE_DOCUMENTS/fseprd687040.pdf) is prohibited.
“Possessing, discharging or using any kind of fireworks or pyrotechnic device is prohibited on the Black Hills National Forest, year-round, regardless of weather conditions or holidays,” said Scott Jacobson, Public Affairs Officer, Black Hills National Forest. “The prohibition includes smaller items such as sparklers, snakes, and smoke balls.” In addition to fire restrictions within the Black Hills Fire Protection District, other fire restrictions for local, state and federal agencies can be found on the Black Hills Fire Restrictions website (http://www.blackhillsfirerestrictions.com/). The District will be resuming installation of meter pits and meters and as such will be looking to locate the property curb stops. The District will attempt to locate the property curb stop. If the District operator can not locate the property curb stop and the District must hire a professional locate service to locate the property curb stop the property owner will be liable for that expense. If the property owner knows the location of their curb stop please have it marked as soon as possible. This is applicable to the 58 properties that have not yet had the meter pit and meter installed.
