PRICE INCREASE: Effective January 1, 2025, water service rates will increase as the DMSD water supplier has increased the raw water charged to DMSD. Residential rates will be $145.00 per month. Meter rates will take effect once all meters have been installed in Spring/Summer 2025.
The 2025 Operating Budget was approved at the November 25 DMSD Trustees Meeting. Final recommendations and approval will take place at the December 13 meeting.

Whitetail/14A access should be open today by 3:00 pm. Friday, November 15th they will be conducting another start up to the new lines and Tanks. Possible water interruption may take place during this start up. We have been notified by our water supplier, Lead-Deadwood Sanitary District, that they will be preforming repairs and maintenance on their water lines on Tuesday, November 19th and possible interruption in water service. Our operators will have our tanks full, so hopefully this will not affect the DMSD customers. We were also notified by our water supplier that there will be a water increase effective January 2025. The Trustee’s will finalize the amount of the increase in the next Trustee meeting in December 2024. No PRE-PAYS will be accepted after December 31, 2024. Whitetail/Mule Deer Dr. will be closed until Thursday afternoon. Please use the Deer Mountain Road entrance. The water start up has been changed from tomorrow (11/12) to Wednesday, (11/13), due to the power outage schedule for tomorrow.
Water service may be interrupted throughout the day on Wednesday. From our water operator: The tanks are holding and we still have water. Possible outage overnight. The tie-in will be completed tomorrow morning.
11/9 UPDATE: Water should be restored by 10AM this morning. Water is back on and filling slowly. Per Black Hills Energy, power will be off at 9 am on Tuesday, November 12th for approximately 4 hours.
