There are NO approved ATV roads or trails around Deer Mountain. Failure to comply with these rules & regulations may result in the involvement of local law enforcement. Parking trailers or vehicles on District Roads within the district boundaries may result in the towing of said trailer or vehicles and fines assessed.
As you will see, there are NO approved roads around Deer Mountain.
- No Fireworks. Fireworks are banned in the Black Hills National Forest all year long.
- No open fires without inspection and permit by the Wildland Fire Division. Slash pile permits in winter months only.ATV/UTV/Snowmobiles to and from destination ONLY. All require a permit from the state. All drivers must possess an active driver’s license and follow all speed limits.No joy-riding, racing or utilizing back roads that are not part of the approved ATV trail system. Maximum speed limit for ALL vehicles is 15 mph.
- No hunting within subdivision boundaries.
- Parking on any roads within the road district is prohibited. Map of approved recreational vehicle areas is available online or at the Forest Service office.
- No RV's, Buses or trailers over 25 feet in length are permitted on the roads.
- Respect private property and comply with all road signs & postings.
- Property owners will be assessed fines for any violations of District Rules & Regulations.
- No new road access may be constructed without District approval.
- No digging in District Roads may be performed without prior District approval.
- Limitations of driveways accessing District Roads shall not exceed 20 feet in width.
- Snowmobile trailer parking available at Recreational Springs Resort.
- Use of District Roads is limited to residents & their guests.
- Construction traffic must be approved by the District.
- No joy-riding, racing or utilizing back roads that are not part of the approved ATV trails. Permits are required.
