Shari Kosel Secretary/Clerk [email protected] Notice is hereby given that there is one (1) vacancy on the Board of Trustees for the Deer Mountain Subdivision Road District for a three (3) year term. This open position has been served by Oz Enderby, and that term is complete. Any landowner in the district can be a Trustee. Petitions may be picked up at the Lawrence County Auditor’s office, by contacting Clerk, Deer Mountain Subdivision Road District, Shari Kosel, 11201 Juniper Court, Lead, SD 57754, emailing [email protected] or deermountaindistrict.com. Completed petitions must contain the name of candidate, residence, business address, and the office for which the candidate is named and shall be signed by at least 5% of the qualified voters. Completed petitions must be returned to Clerk at the address below. The deadline for submitting the petitions is 5:00 pm, April 20, 2020. The election and annual meeting for the Deer Mountain Subdivision Road District is May 5, 2020, at Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center, 160 W Main St, Lead, SD 57754; election from 5:00-6:00 pm and annual meeting at 6:00 pm.

Two page nominating petitions will not be accepted. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING for the DEER MOUNTAIN SANITARY DISTRICT WATER PROJECT
The Deer Mountain Sanitary District is seeking $2,125,000 of funding from the Board of Water and Natural Resources for water system improvements, including the following: new water treatment building and equipment, storage reservoir, water meters, distribution system, and booster station. The funds could be either a grant from the state Consolidated Water Facilities Construction Program or a loan from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (SRF) Program. The Drinking Water SRF loan terms are 2.5% for 30 years, and the Board of Water and Natural Resources may forgive all or a portion of loan principal. The amount, source of funds, and terms will be determined by the Board of Water and Natural Resources when the application is presented at a scheduled board meeting. The purpose of the public hearing is to discuss the proposed project, the proposed financing, and the source of repayment for the loan. The public is invited to attend and comment on the project. The public hearing will be held in the classroom at the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center, located at 160 West Main Street, Lead, SD, on March 25, 2020, at 5:30 pm. |
